Ulmus parvifolia ‘Fronteir’ — Chinese Elm

Strong Deciduous Growth: ‘Fronteir’ develops an upright, well-formed canopy with attractive branching and small green leaves. Its refined shape and sturdy structure make it a versatile choice for larger gardens and landscape planting.

Fine Textured Foliage: The small, glossy green leaves create a dense canopy that provides a softer, more delicate appearance than many larger-leaved elms. The foliage remains attractive through the warmer months and provides useful shade.

Rich Autumn Colour: As the season changes, the foliage develops warm yellow and golden tones before falling for winter. The changing colours add another layer of seasonal interest to the landscape.

Excellent Feature & Shade Tree: With its strong form and attractive canopy, ‘Fronteir’ is well suited to lawns, streetscapes, avenues, parks, large gardens, and open landscape areas where a substantial tree can be accommodated.

Sun-Loving & Adaptable: This elm performs best in full sun and adapts well to a range of well-drained soils. Regular watering during establishment will encourage strong root development and healthy long-term growth.

Elegant & Long-Lived: Combining fine foliage, attractive branching, seasonal colour, and a dependable landscape presence, ‘Fronteir’ makes an excellent structural tree for creating shade and adding height to the garden.
