Bring the rugged beauty of the New Zealand coast to your garden with the Pseudopanax lessonii. This resilient native plant matures into a handsome shrub or small tree, reaching an approximate height of 5 meters and a width of 2 meters. It is highly valued for its striking, glossy green leaves that are not only tough and leathery but also beautifully structured. Naturally found in coastal environments, it is exceptionally tolerant of dry, windy conditions and salt spray, making it a perfect choice for exposed sites. While it can handle a light frost, it will need protection from heavy freezes. A fantastic, bird-attracting plant, it’s an ideal addition for creating dense, textural plantings or a robust, native screen.
