Metasequoia glyptostroboides ‘Dawn Redwood’

Strong Deciduous Growth: Dawn Redwood develops a tall, upright form with a strong central trunk and evenly spaced branches. Its graceful conical shape gives it an impressive presence and makes it an excellent choice for larger landscapes.

Fresh Green Foliage: Soft, fine-textured foliage is arranged in feathery sprays along the branches, creating a lush green canopy throughout spring and summer. The delicate foliage gives the tree an elegant appearance despite its substantial size.

Brilliant Autumn Colour: As temperatures fall, the green foliage changes to rich copper, bronze, and reddish-brown shades before dropping. This striking transformation provides a spectacular seasonal display.

Distinctive Bark & Structure: The trunk develops attractive reddish-brown, fibrous bark that adds character and interest as the tree matures. Its strong winter framework also provides an impressive architectural feature once the foliage has fallen.

Excellent Feature Tree: A superb choice for large lawns, parks, avenues, lifestyle properties, and spacious landscapes. Its tall, symmetrical form works particularly well as a specimen tree where there is plenty of room to grow.

Sun-Loving & Moisture Loving: Dawn Redwood performs best in full sun with fertile, deep, well-drained soil and consistent moisture. Regular watering during establishment and dry periods will encourage vigorous growth and healthy development.

Majestic & Seasonal: Combining fine green foliage, spectacular autumn colour, distinctive bark, and a strong architectural silhouette, Dawn Redwood provides impressive interest throughout the seasons and makes a memorable landscape feature.
