Why Gleditsia triacanthos ‘Sunburst’ Golden Honey Locust is a Garden Favourite

Brilliant Golden Foliage: ‘Sunburst’ is prized for its fresh golden-yellow new growth, which creates a vibrant splash of colour in spring before gradually maturing to a softer green through summer.

Outstanding Feature Tree: Its open, spreading canopy and elegant branching structure make it an excellent specimen for lawns, driveways, avenues, and larger garden settings.

Beautiful Seasonal Colour: The foliage provides changing tones throughout the growing season, beginning with striking gold in spring before transitioning through green and finishing with warm autumn shades.

Light & Airy Canopy: The finely divided foliage creates a delicate, filtered effect, allowing sunlight to pass through the canopy while adding attractive texture and movement to the landscape.

Hardy & Reliable: Once established, this honey locust is a tough and adaptable tree that performs best in a sunny position with well-drained soil, making it a dependable choice for long-term garden planting.

Year-Round Character: From its distinctive winter branching and golden spring foliage to its refined summer canopy and autumn transformation, ‘Sunburst’ provides colour, structure, and interest across the seasons.
