Ficus dammaropsis is a truly unique and eye-catching fig species, admired for its enormous, deeply veined leaves and bold tropical presence. Native to the highland rainforests of Papua New Guinea, this distinctive tree boasts foliage that can reach over a metre in length, with a leathery texture and dramatic pleated appearance.

Its thick, upright stems support a spreading canopy, giving it an architectural form perfect for adding a lush, exotic vibe to warm-climate gardens or spacious indoor environments. While it does produce fig-like fruit, it is primarily grown for its ornamental qualities. Best suited to sheltered spots with warmth, moisture, and well-drained soil, it also thrives in large containers.

Ficus dammaropsis is a statement plant—ideal for those looking to bring a touch of the wild tropics into their landscape or home.
